Responsibilities
Responsible for product development from concept through production
Lead electro-mechanical product design, redesign, part assembly, and detailed part drawings
Lead prototyping, testing, and assembly of samples
Collaborate cross-functionally and lead various projects
Leading various aspects of the design process, including the development of part geometry, assembly design, and drawing generation
Developing and distributing engineering data in the form of Engineering Change Notices, bills of material, and parts tracking
Partnering with the manufacturing facilities to resolve part or assembly issues, deviation requests, and bill of material errors
Conducts pilot/pre-production runs
Actively participates in team meetings using the product delivery system for each major product
Ensuring concepts are agreeable with standard manufacturing methods utilized in the appropriate manufacturing facility
Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
3-5 years of experience
Demonstrated understanding of engineering fundamentals
Proficient use of 3D CAD (SolidWorks) and PLM software (preferably Windchill)
Ability to effectively communicate verbally, in written form, and through sketches and engineering drawings
Understand manufacturing methods such as stamping, drawing, casting, and extruding metals and plastics
Knowledge of UL / CSA and testing processes is a plus
Must be available to travel based on business needs, up to 5% (domestic and international)
