Responsibilities
Assess social, environmental and climate risk in corporate credit, project finance and agribusiness operations, producing and presenting technical opinions to support the Credit Committee.
Perform environmental and climate analyses of real estate collateral using geospatial tools;
Interact with the Credit, Commercial and other teams to support discussions on socio-environmental and climate risk (RSAC);
Support and carry out control activities for socio-environmental and climate risk management;
Proactively work on improving methodology and the analytical and management tools for socio-environmental and climate risk;
Technically assess the quality of socio-environmental and climate information provided by service providers and lead meetings to resolve issues;
Represent the bank in working groups within associations of which the bank is a member;
Support the manager in guiding and training the area's intern.
Requirements
Degree in Environmental Engineering, Forest Engineering, Environmental Management, Agronomy, Geography or related fields.
Desired (advantageous): Postgraduate degree, MBA or specialization in Environmental Management, Sustainability or Climate Change.
Mandatory: full knowledge of the regulatory and self-regulatory agenda for socio-environmental and climate risk in the financial system;
Experience: minimum of 3 years working on socio-environmental risk analysis in financial institutions, asset managers or environmental consultancies providing due diligence services to the financial sector.
In-depth knowledge of the IFC Performance Standards and their application in analyses;
Strong knowledge of physical and transition climate risk assessment;
Full proficiency in analyzing Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) reports, Basic Environmental Plan (PBA) and licensing conditions;
Advanced knowledge of geoprocessing/geospatial tools;
Knowledge and use of public databases: experience consulting certificates, CAR (Rural Environmental Registry), SIGEF/INCRA and environmental agency systems (SINAFLOR, IBAMA);
Experience using AI to optimize processes (advantageous);
Intermediate knowledge in handling databases (Google Cloud Platform is a plus);
Advanced knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite;
Knowledge of programming languages Python and VBA for Excel (advantageous);
Minimum English proficiency: Advanced.
