About the role

• Senior Backend Engineer developing backend systems for DeFi ecosystem at 1inch. Focus on blockchain technologies and high-performance backend systems with Nest.js and microservices architectures.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain scalable backend microservices using the Nest.js framework
• Design and implement high-performance, low-latency APIs and backend systems
• Monitor technical and business metrics, including error rates and uptime, to ensure service stability
• Conduct regular system profiling and optimise database queries to ensure high throughput
• Write clean, well-documented code while strictly adhering to internal standards and development guidelines
• Set up and manage alerting systems for early detection and proactive mitigation of vulnerabilities
• Participate in code reviews, architecture discussions, and agile sprint planning sessions
• Stay abreast of emerging technologies to introduce new tools that enhance team efficiency and system performance

Requirements

• Proven track record working within fintech, DeFi, or cryptocurrency sectors
• Practical experience developing microservices architecture capable of handling high-load traffic
• Advanced proficiency in Node.js and TypeScript, supported by strong SQL skills and PostgreSQL experience
• Familiarity with Redis, message brokers (such as NATS, EMQX, or Kafka), and monitoring tools like Prometheus and Grafana
• A solid understanding of blockchain fundamentals, Web3, and Solidity
• Working knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, Docker, and fundamental Kubernetes concepts
• Ability to manage metrics pipelines and configure robust alerting systems
• Experience working within Scrum-based environments with an enterprise-oriented focus on structure
• A proactive communicator with a quality-driven approach and strong problem-solving abilities
• Willingness to adhere to a hybrid schedule, including at least three days per week on-site at the Dubai office
